Project Description
Project goal is to support the work of the jointly funded forest ecologist for the Center for Sustainable Forestry at Pack Forest (CSF-PF) and the WA State Parks and Recreation Commission (WSPRC). Objectives of this jointly funded position included 1) implementing forest health surveys for WSPRC to assess the condition of natural resources; 2) creating appropriate records of field surveys, analyzing data, and providing management recommendations for WSPRC, with consideration of stakeholders for specific areas in and around the state park system; 3) marking timber, creating timber contracts, and overseeing forestry operations for WSPRC; and 4) monitoring response of forest attributes to restoration actions. WSPRC will provide available agency natural resources information, timely reviews of CSF-PF products, and CSF-PF will be responsible for assuring completion of projects.
